From the Principal's Desk

Spring is upon us, well at least on the calendar, although the weather has not quite caught up yet.  However the ‘Change of Season’ seems an apt theme at the present time.  I am always amazed at how a particular idea, theme or topic seems to repeat itself all at the same time. In my conversations with people in the last two or three weeks I have lost count of the number of times it has been mentioned that God is opening new doors of opportunity, or working in ways that people had not envisaged in a particular scenario.

Well that’s about how we feel here, too. This year we have been charting a course to add new people to the College’s Board. I am pleased to announce that David Payne from Gosford, Australia is the first to accept that invitation. We greatly value David’s Christian character, wisdom, experience and giftedness. In addition David brings to the board level a perspective of the Australian churches and ministry .

Then as you know we began a search for a new Dean of Students approximately two months ago. We began the process with a prayerful desire for the Lord to guide us to the right person for this important role. It was not until nearly at the end of the process we got an understanding of how that would work out and we have mutually agreed with Roger Craig to extend his contract so he will remain in the position for 2011.

We have one last exciting and further development in process but that will have to wait until next report, or perhaps early 2011.

Acts 4 Update

I lift up my voice in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord as graduates, students and friends of the College have responded to our need and generously donated funds to help finance this ministry. To date we have received NZ$9,143.38.

Of course it is not too late to add your donation. We would love to double or triple this by the end of the year.
