Student Life: Students That Serve By Roger Craig Dean of Students |
|||||||||||
As you have been reading in the other reports, the big event in the last two months has been the Reunion which was enjoyed by all. The students really stepped up to the mark and helped out in many different areas. They did this in addition to their normal studies since school was in session until just before the Reunion started and then commenced again the day after. Even though it was a lot of work for them they all know that God will never put more on their plates than they can handle. Well done guys. Photos at right: (Above) Salesa and Paul working at the sound booth taping the lectures at the Reunion. (Below) Connie, Ann, Amy and Peter in the kitchen preparing hungi food for over 200 people.
Three weeks later it was break time but two days before break we had work days where the students worked at the college, in the community, and at the Otumoetai Church. In these two days they helped a mum looking after 6 children to shift house, gave the college a big spring clean and the gardens a wonderful make-over as well as wiping down all the walls and doing a big clean up at the church building as part of a thank you for allowing us to hold the Reunion there. After these two days’ work the students went on a well deserved break.
Returning refreshed they are in the classroom again going hard out so keep them in your prayers.
The weather has been a lot colder in the past month as it is winter so some of the students who come from warmer climates have been feeling the cold. At least they stay awake in class a lot more…lol. Anyway spring is just around the corner and the daffodils are just starting to poke their heads through the ground so soon the warmth shall return… “yahoo” I hear some of them say.
I have started processing new students for next year’s intake so if you are interested or know someone who is please email me at rogerc@spbc.org.nz. The process with immigration takes awhile so the sooner the better as many times we have students miss out because they haven’t allowed enough time to have their visas processed. |

On a note from me personally as the Dean of Students, as some of you know I am resigning at the end of this year and SPBC is in the process of selecting a replacement. Please pray that the transition is a smooth one.
I will let you know my future plans in the next issue.
Take care… Sir Rog |
